Indonesia Explores UAE as Destination for Expanded Migrant Worker Placements

Indonesia is actively exploring opportunities to expand placements of migrant workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of a national target to dispatch 500,000 workers abroad by 2026, including thousands of hospitality positions.

Deputy Minister for Migrant Worker Protection, Christina Aryani, highlighted potential placements in priority sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and hotel services during a virtual meeting with Indonesian and UAE officials. The UAE is expected to demand nearly 5,000 hospitality workers by 2026, along with additional roles in healthcare, construction, and transportation.

The government aims to promote faster, safer, and more structured deployment through coordinated forums involving ministries, placement companies, and hotel industry end users.
