More Than 257,000 Overseas Job Vacancies Available for Indonesian Workers

Government encourages skilled workers to seize formal overseas employment opportunities through official recruitment channels.

Jakarta — The Indonesian government has announced that more than 257,000 overseas job vacancies are currently available for Indonesian workers through official placement schemes. The vacancies span various industries across multiple destination countries, offering significant opportunities for skilled professionals seeking international careers.

According to the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI), despite the large number of available positions, only around 64,000 vacancies have been successfully filled. This indicates that substantial opportunities remain open for qualified Indonesian workers who meet the required competencies and recruitment standards.

The government continues to encourage prospective migrant workers to take advantage of these formal employment opportunities by registering through licensed recruitment agencies and official government placement systems. Officials also emphasized that formal recruitment provides greater protection, legal certainty, and access to government assistance throughout the overseas employment process.

“There are still hundreds of thousands of overseas job opportunities available. We encourage Indonesian workers to prepare themselves and utilize official recruitment channels to access these opportunities safely and legally,” the ministry stated.

Among the sectors experiencing consistent international demand are hospitality, tourism, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, and domestic services. For hospitality professionals, countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia continue to seek qualified workers for positions in hotels, restaurants, resorts, and tourism-related businesses.

The ministry also highlighted the importance of competency development before applying for overseas positions. Language proficiency, technical skills, professional certifications, and relevant work experience remain key factors that influence recruitment success in the international labor market.

For candidates interested in pursuing hospitality careers abroad, preparing an updated CV, obtaining industry certifications, and understanding destination-country requirements can significantly improve competitiveness during the recruitment process. Applicants are also encouraged to verify all job vacancies through official government platforms to ensure the recruitment process follows legal procedures.

With thousands of vacancies still available, Indonesia’s formal overseas employment program continues to offer promising career opportunities for workers who are ready to meet international industry standards while contributing to the country’s skilled workforce development.
