Turkish Worker Placement Focuses on Tourism & Hospitality

Indonesia is intensifying efforts to place skilled migrant workers in Turkey with a special focus on labor-intensive sectors such as tourism and hospitality. Deputy Minister for Migrant Worker Protection Christina Aryani noted that the number of Indonesian workers receiving Turkish work permits has increased significantly, with nearly 8,930 permits issued in 2024.

The Turkish labor market is characterized by high demand for hospitality personnel, offering opportunities for roles in hotels, restaurants, and other service sectors. As part of ongoing cooperation, Indonesian officials are working with their Turkish counterparts to ensure that vocational training and skills development align with the needs of the Turkish market.

This continued engagement reflects broader efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s participation in the global hospitality workforce.
